I don't think there is a day that goes by where I DON'T think about Paris, but Paris Fashion Week always puts me over the edge. Then the temperatures get warmer and I just can't think of a more perfect place {ok, I wouldn't mind an island or maybe Spain but you know...} While this isn't exactly 'streetstyle,' somehow wearing gowns in Paris just seems much more normal. Next time I'm there, I will most certainly be rocking at least a ball skirt like this or this.

Even though it was a short week thanks to the snow, it feels like it was extra long and extra exhausting...I blame the lack of sun! So no big plans for the weekend, though you can bet there will be some girl talk and some wine and some point! Mainly though I plan on starting a new book and laying low. 50/50 chance of that happening as always!

Not that I don't adore every one of Blair's outfits as it is, but given the fact that I have worn all black 90% of the week, I thought this was extra appropriate. Maxi skirts/dresses are one of those things that I love, however rarely wear since I don't have a driver to prevent my hems from getting ruined. 

I pretty much end up stocking up fancy ballgown-y skirts...and then wearing them in my apartment on the weekend with a glass of wine. Fun, but not exactly 'practical.' Seeing this look though makes me want to run out and go by every full length skirt and gown that I can find...

No exotic plans for the weekend {yet} and given that I found an amazing pair of black satin pajamas last weekend, I plan on spending a lot of time fancily lazing around. Of course, whenever I say its a weekend of staying in the opposite usually happens {just like when I say I won't shop...} so we shall see!

While it hasn't been a rough week-- nor a particularly eventful or interesting one-- I've been waiting with even more bated breath than usual for Friday. Why? Absolutely no reason really! The novelty of not working weekends anymore has yet to wear off. Just knowing I have the freedom to do as I please has made me so happy that I finally look forward to the weekends ago (like a normal person.)

So this weekend could be jam-packed or it could be nothing but lazy strolls and reading in bed with a cup (or five) of coffee, but its the freedom and the possibilities that make it so great. Of course, there are plenty of things I should do, but that will never really stop no matter how many tasks I check off, so what's the point in stressing over it?

This isn't just a weekend, its THE weekend! One of my absolute best friends is getting married and I can't wait to celebrate her and her soon to be hubby. It makes me feel rather grown-up, as I am quite late to the 'all my friends are getting married game.' I can't think of a better way to spend a weekend!

I can't help being overly excited (yes I KNOW its a cliche by now) about fall. After saying for over 3 years I'll go apple and pumpkin picking, wine tasting, etc, I'm on a mission to finally do it. The perfect fall weather goes by in the blink of an eye, so I'm going to at least try to look up from phone more and actually enjoy the real world around me. Not everything needs to be seen in terms of Instagram-ability (guilty guilty guilty lately!)

TGIF!!

Every time I see a Katie Ermilio dress, my jaw drops, my heart beats faster, and the daydreams begin. They are so classically beautiful, but with little modern touches (like bright pink!) Owning one of her dresses is on my bucket list for sure...

I don't know if its because its Friday the 13th or because its finally starting to feel like fall, but my mind is already starting to brainstorm for Halloween. My plans for tonight now seem to involve watching "Hocus Pocus" (for the fiftieth time) and playing dress up. Wait, that's actually pretty much any old night for me!

This is brilliant! If I wear sunglasses with all my formal dresses then I too can totally just rock them traipsing around all the resorts I frequent. Excuse me while I go by new sunglasses, a plane ticket, and an evening dress. OK, the last thing is actually true. 

For someone who has such an um...extensive...closet, you'd think I would have full length dresses in every color of the rainbow right? Shockingly no. I know, you are just as amazed as I am. Its not often I have a mission for shopping that does not need to be rationalized away-- what a novel idea!

Also, my last shift of bartending is this weekend. I haven't had Saturdays off in 8 years, so while it may not be great for the wallet, I'm already thinking of a million and one things I'll be doing with the free time.

Fancy dresses make me happy. Paris makes me happy. A fancy dress in Paris? Well that's pretty much living the dream. I love the dreaminess of the all white, with the subtle floral pattern peeping through. With fall shockingly on the way, I'm getting my fill of fluffy confections like this right now!

It may not be the time of year for spring cleaning, but I really feel the need for a clean slate lately. Mostly physically, with a tidier and more updated apartment, but I think the old head could stand for some dusting off too. 

Ok ok, enough with the semi-introspective musings...

Not sure which I'm more envious of, the stunning background, or the work-of-art dress. Ok, knowing me its the dress, but the scenery is a close second! One of these days, I'll stop posting photos filled with travel and my wanderlust, and just GO. Today though, this will do.

The weather has been imitation Fall perfection and for once, I'm loving it. I must have hit my sundress saturation early this summer! Not only are the days of summer numbered, but after almost 8 years, my days of working on the weekends are as well. 

This year, I don't want the only changes I make to be with my wardrobe. I'm hoping that maybe now I'll go out and take those art classes, start yoga, learn another language...Ok, realistically probably just yoga but still, baby steps.

I have no idea if this is just a camera trick (likely) or if she is actually submerged in water in that gorgeous gown-- either way, hello STUNNING. The photo is truly a work of art, my kind of art at least. Its as if a mermaid directed a fashion shoot-- all that's missing is Ariel singing 'Under the Sea.'

While I could attempt to wax poetic about this shot, honestly, its been a long week and this photo really does speak for itself. So instead, how about we go soak up what's left of summer, because next thing you know it'll be October!

I'm a sucker for a fancy dress, as well as pretty much anything involving Paris. When you combine the two I obviously adore it...and will likely be daydreaming for weeks! I'm not sure which I want more, a gorgeous dress or a trip to Paris...Ok, the trip, but a fancy gown is a close second.

My plans this weekend do involve exotic trips, although granted only through the magic of the movies. Even though I've watched "Midnight in Paris" and "The Thomas Crown Affair" too many times to count, they're calling my name this weekend. Nothing wrong with a little art theft and time travel right?

If I were going to a super ritzy Hamptons garden party, I would definitely wear this. Actually, its so gorgeous and fun I would even wear it around the house just to make watching TV seem fancier. Something this beautiful shouldn't be saved for imaginary occasions.

Granted I don't have a lot of spare ballgowns laying around my apartment, just wasting away, but the idea of not waiting around for the 'right' time or occasion is something I'm trying to get over. This doesn't mean you'll likely see me out in a full length sequin dress next time I'm out at my favorite wine bar, but I am trying to be more spontaneous and overthink less.

No time like the weekend to break out a more carefree way of thinking!

Usually I'm looking forward to having plans for the weekend, but this weekend? I'm beyond excited not to have plans! Sometimes you just need to take a little time out and recharge your batteries. Of course, it doesn't help that there is supposed to be so much rain you could practically swim to the grocery store.

I think we can all agree that this dress is stunning. Another one of those, take your breath away can't even believe that someone gets to wear it, dresses. This dress just screams, well more like politely whispers in a ladylike voice, that warm weather is here to stay. While we may lament the heat in a month (or hey, even a week), I'm going to relish liberating the rest of my sundresses from the dark depths of storage.

Although I have been under the weather most of the week, I'm still in full on TGIF mode...even if I may swap peppermint tea and a movie for the usual wine and night out. Hopefully your plans are much more interesting...
