Fancy Friday

{ red + pink }

I was actually feeling a little lazy and thinking about skipping this post...until I saw this photo. I mean COME ON. I can't possibly put into words how perfectly styled this is, how much I love the look, or just how happy the colors make me. Not too likely I can pull this off, but I think I will try anyway...even if its only in the comfort of my own home!

After two weeks of no running I am going a little batty, but man has my closet gotten some new friends. Totally not needed as usual, but I've gotta fill my free time somehow right? Ok yes, perfect time to finally sign up for the French classes/drawing classes/learn to cook etc. Eh, maybe next random injury...

Hope you have a great weekend!

All Dressed in Black, Black, Black

...Why yes, I am referring to the children's clapping game 'Miss Mary Mack.' Not sure if I'm regressing or just reminiscing, but either way, its stuck in my head {and now yours, sorry!} I've been wearing more brights and colors lately, which usually happens when it warms up, but today I just wasn't up for it. Basic black all the way-- perhaps in mourning for running and heels?

Fancy Friday: Paris Je T'aime

1margoandme02
{Jenny from Margo & Me}

Even if you have only read one post {and thank you for reading another} you probably have noticed I am just slightly obsessed with all things Parisian. And by slightly I of course mean ridiculously head over heels in love. Needless to say that when my love for Paris and my love for gorgeous gowns are combined, the obsession is on a whole other level. Le sigh indeed....

I'm off today and plan on spending most of the day with my super fun and stylish Mom {seriously, most of my best stuff is from her!} Since I still can't run, she's convinced me to attempt my first Pilates class in almost ten years. Here's to fresh starts and new challenges I guess? As always, bubbly is on tap for the night though with my girlfriend, it IS the weekend after all!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend too!

Spots and Stripes

While I do absolutely love how in fashion wearing sneakers with everything is, I'm not actually doing it for that reason. I'm still trying to baby my foot {or bone??? not sure yet...) so for now sneakers are the only things that are working. Thank goodness I've been stocking up throughout the year. I may need to get some 'fancy' metallic ones for important meetings though {only half kidding.}

Fancy Friday

{ La Vie Boheme }

Happy Friday the 13th! What better way to kick it off then a beautiful flowing white dress and an action shot? For a self-declared klutz, I sure have been buying a LOT of white lately-- I can't get enough. Granted, it is the season, but I still usually avoid it for sheer fear. This year apparently I am living on the edge.

I had all the best of plans to enjoy the weather with a run or two, but as usual, just when I am getting really hooked on running, something happens. I'm hoping its just paranoia, but pretty sure that I will be taking some time off from for quite a while. Even if I am lucky, its a wake up call that my usual all or nothing approach to fitness is obviously not a good one. So regardless, its finally time to mix it up: Barre, strength training, yoga, you name it. Black and white thinking is a hard pattern to break but these wake up calls should help.

Ok, sorry for the detour, but its just tough when anything changes, especially when it makes me happier, more energetic and sane! Luckily, I still have the same kickass friends and family, so you can bet there will be plenty of both.

Have a great weekend!

**Any tips on newbie classes around DC {metro accessible} are welcome too! Just can't be too high impact....

Match Point

Its not just tennis style sweaters {hello Rag & Bone Talia sweater....} that I'm obessed with-- aparently its all tennis inspired apparel, from head to toe! I'd even been looking for a white drop-waist pleated dress {yes, I really do get that specific} so I was pleasantly surprised to see this ON SALE at J. Crew for under $100. The pleats don't hold as perfectly as I'd like, but still well worth it. Now just to get over my fear of wearing white and spilling on myself...

Fancy Friday

olivia
{Olivia, perfect as always!}

Olivia Palermo could wear a giant brown bag, and she'd not only still look amazing, but look SO chic that I would immediately want one too. I try not to copy other people's style {more like, get inspired by} but I legit want to copy almost every one of her outfits. Until my bank account matches hers {AKA never}, no danger of actual copycatting. So yes, this is another stunning look..and the backdrop isn't too shabby either!

Feeling a little out of sorts for various reasons, however with weather this gorgeous, its hard to be down for long! Some sun and fun is just what the doctor ordered.

Whatever you have planned, I hope you enjoy!!

Superwoman

This may just be the most magical piece of clothing I own. Its a jacket, a dress, a vest, and even though its not my style, the removable top part can be worn as a bolero. I started the day with sleeves and removed them as it went on. The closest I'll get to a quick change superhero! Seriously, why aren't more clothes like this? Practical yes, but so fun too! Its sold out, but check it out in all its glory over on The Outnet.

Convertible Trench: Elizabeth & James {sadly can't find another convertible one, but for a dress, try this or this. For the jacket, I love my J. Crew 'Icon' trench.}

Watch: Michael Kors // Rings: Vintage, Ambiance in San Francisco
Nail Polish: Essie 'Find Me an Oasis'

Bag: J. Crew // Shoes: Seychelles // Toenail Polish: Essie 'She's Pampered'

Mix and Match

Reason #37 for why I can't get rid of clothes: Literally everything I am wearing is at least 4 years old (except for the bag and bracelet), but I've never thought of putting the three together until now. Have I gotten more creative? Crazy? Mature? Eh, maybe one out of three...

Top: Nanette Lepore {try this or this in short sleeve} // Skirt: Vera Wang

Business Safari

Not only does this dress have the jewelry built in {I always love a good two in one}, but it has puff sleeves and my ultimate love, POCKETS. For some reason it makes me always feel very boardroom meets
safari-- neither of which I was heading to of course, but I like the vibe regardless.

Dress: Milly {old, try this or this}

{how great is this neckline???}

Carnival Colors

I can't even remember the last time I was at a carnival or circus, but for some reason this skirt makes me think of a circus tent...but in a good way of course! As far as my tulle skirts go, this is one of the more subtle ones {well, in terms of poufiness and tulle, not the colors obviously!} Really, Asos can do no wrong...
