Happy Little Accidents

Since I've already done a post on this dress before, I wasn't planning on doing another one...but then some of my random insta-shots actually turned out kind of fun {at least in my head...} Hey, at least I'm trying new things, right??

{Outtake from trying to photograph the earrings, but my hair color looks way better than in real life, so the evidence must be kept!}

Mix and Match

I woke up wanting to wear this skirt. Not sure if it was the yellow, the fact I still had the tags on, or my love of pleats, but I just HAD to wear it. I wasn't feeling my usual fancy self for some reason. Instead, I felt like a 4 year old girl picking out seemingly incongruous items to form what she believes to be a perfect outfit. A graphic tee and yellow faux leather skirt may not make sense, but it was just the right mix in my mind.

Top: Zoe Karssen {similar} // Skirt: Tibi {in black here}

Nail Polish: Butter London 'Fiver'

Sunglasses: Karen Walker 'Super Duper Strength' // Lipstick: Mireness Glossy Kiss

Shoes: Vince Camuto // Toenail Polish: Essie 'Play Date' // Jean Jacket: Zara

Walking on Sunshine

This dress just makes me happy. The sunny yellow shade and the floppy flowers just shout summer...and heatwave. A breezy dress combined with a high bun is the only way to go when the temperatures hit 100, well the only way appropriate for work that is.

This is pretty much my uniform for the week, which turns into cutoffs and a tee on the weekend. Only thing missing is a giant iced coffee...

Dress: Trina Turk {try this}

Ring: Ambiance // Earrings: Anthropologie {old but similar} // Nail Polish: Essie 'Bikini so Teeny'

Wedges: Michael Kors {similar} // Nail Polish: Essie 'Bottle Service'

Blazer: Kulson // Bracelets: J. Crew

Vintage Vibing

I seem to be on even more of a retro kick than usual this week. Whether its just retro inspired or legit vintage, I can't get enough! I purchased this 70's wrap dress on Ebay a few years back and always reach for it on a bright sunny day. The cute white piping and delicate little ruffles just feel so happy to me.

I know that I probably wear this Oia Jules bracelet at least twice a week, but it just seems to go with everything...including perfectly matching my nail polish! It took me a while to get off the red/pink nail polish bandwagon, but I love experimenting now. In case you haven't noticed yet, I have a major Essie addiction (and if you don't, what are you waiting for??)

Dress: Vintage {try this and this Lanvin is amazing!}

Necklaces: Both gifts from my parents {both from some little store in San Fran..}

Nail Polish: Essie 'In the Cab-Ana' // Bracelets: Oia Jules, J. Crew

Flower Power

My amazing sister gave me this Milly dress (with tags still on!) a few years ago because she wasn't wearing it. I adored it but for some reason never wore it until today-- and now I want to wear it every day! The beading alone is just crazy cool, but add in the sunshine yellow and the 60's vibe? Perfection.

It also has a great low (but tasteful!) back, but even with extreme acrobatic attempts I just couldn't get a decent picture of it. Perhaps one day when my photos aren't all selfies (hey, a girl can dream....) Anyway, I love my sister for a million reasons, but this dress bumps it up to at lease a million and one.

Jacket: J. Crew {similar here and here} // Dress: Milly {old but try this or this}

Ring: Ambiance // Nail Polish: Essie "Come Here!" // Bracelets: All vintage

Stopping Traffic

Its no secret that I like bright colors, and neon yellow has a special place in my heart. It wasn't until today walking to work that I realized my dress was literally the same color as the vest guards use to stop traffic. This of course made me like it even more.
Some days, the last thing you want to do is blend in with the crowd.

Jacket: Guess {try this or this} // Dress: Asos {old by similar here and here}
 // Belt: Linea Pelle {try this}

Bracelet: J. Crew Factory // Nail Polish: Essie 'Borrowed & Blue'

Lily of the Northwest

 from Anthropologie}

The surprise Lilies from my mom yesterday must have influenced this morning's skirt choice
