Its a Plaid, Plaid, World
I've been eyeing this scarf for ages and yet couldn't pull the trigger with the weather being in the 60s and 70s! This of course meant the color I wanted was sold out (now back in stock and purchased.) However this blue green version is an absolute dream and I literally didn't take it off once today, till I changed into pj's right after I got home of course.
So this one scarf started a shopping chain reaction...not only did it make me want more scarves, but more plaid, more coziness and more oversized anything!

Dynamic Duo
There are lots of famous duos-- Peanut Butter and Jelly, Yin and Yang, Sonny and Cher -- but I think one of the most perfect is that of denim and leather. It can be ladylike one minute and then badass the next. Each material is so versatile on its own, so together they are unstoppable. Plus, it helps if you have at least 2-3 versions of each (in my world at least.)

I Pity the Fool
...Who doesn't get this reference. Sure I may not look much like Mr. T (I hope!), but I sure give him a run for his money in the jewelry department. The necklace and bracelet were actually DIY, and so easy its almost criminal (Step 1, buy chains and lobster clasps. Step 2, attach.)
I'd been lusting over this dress, and of course ALL Tibi, for a while, and when I saw it oh super sale at Shopbop I couldn't resist. After years of denial, I then finally understood the importance of a good tailor, but that's another story (and a very boring one at that.) So, without further ado...

Rebel Rebel
No, I haven't run off an joined a motorcycle gang, but for some people, wearing white before Labor Day is considered rebellious and rule-breaking. I'm of course one to wear a feather skirt in the daytime, so obviously am not too concerned with fashion 'rules.' Still, it feels fun to pretend for a minute that I am actually being a little bit of a rule-breaker.

Lessons and Lace
Remember when you used to pick out your outfit the day before school? You would just wake up in the morning, get dressed, have breakfast and GO. Well, until middle school when we didn't have uniforms. That's when I can trace my habit of staring at my closet waiting for a miraculous new outfit to appear developed (perhaps this can be blamed on "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" as well.)
While my closet has gotten significantly bigger, my habit of staring into the abyss of clothes has not improved. So, time to try something new. Last night, I laid out everything-- yes, EVERYTHING-- that I would wear today. Pigs must be flying because I still liked it in the morning and was able to have extra time for breakfast (yes, the banana french toast...mmmm.)
I'd love to say I will be doing this every night before bed from now on, but lets be honest, I'll be lucky if I do it once a month. Still better odds than a magical closet...
