In the Navy

For some reason I used to think that navy tights were ridiculous and couldn't fathom why they existed. Whoops, I take it all back. I've been wearing mine at least once a week. I certainly still have an unhealthy addiction to black tights, but there is hope for me yet.

I got this top at one of my favorite consignment stores, Secondi, and haven't worn it or the denim mini in ages. Hooray for shopping in my closet {and wearing a sweatshirt without looking like it.}

Sweatshirt: Citizens of Humanity {Couldn't find a current match, but this J. Crew blazer has a similar feel}  // Skirt: Citizens of Humanity {similar here and here}

Earrings : Sorrelli  // Phone case: Casemate // Nail polish: Essie Fifth Avenue

Bracelets: J. Crew Wild Side Wide Bangle // J. Crew Golden Gears

Boots: BCBGirls {similar} // Jacket: Asos {Great lightweight options from Zara here and here}

I Want What She's Wearing

{Kate Davidson Hudson}
Unless you have been living under a rock and shunning all social media, you are probably aware that New York Fashion Week has been going on. There have been an infinite number of fantastic street style looks rocked by some lovely ladies, but this one especially caught my eye.

It manages to seem effortless, classic, put together but also chic casual cool. She take a 70's vibe and makes  it more modern, less full on mod, thanks to cleaner cut and closer fitted items.

Start with this Splendid Turtleneck as a base. I just bought it last week {its on sale!} and its perfect for layering!

This J. Crew Peacoat is almost identical to the one she is wearing {on sale too!}

Throw on some flared jeans...
Untitled #5

Rachel Zoe flare jeans // True Religion flared jeans // Joe's Jeans flare jean

The finishing touch:

Diane von Furstenberg colorblock bag // Milly handbag // Design Inverso handbag // Clare Vivier

Now about that perfect hair....

Disco Denim

By itself, this shirtdress feels very 1970's, but I wanted to dress it up to make it a little more work appropriate. Daytime sequins paired with denim is one of my favorite combinations-- always love a good fancy casual mash-up.

 Sequin Top: J. Crew {Could try this or this. Short-sleeved versions here and here} // Dress7 For All Mankind {other options herehere. Cool black version here and a fancy Burberry one} // Belt: J. Crew {sold out by try thisthis or this

 I highly recommend buying a denim shirtdress-- I wear mine constantly and it can be layered so easily!

Sometimes sequins are just not enough sparkle for one outfit.
