Mix and Match

Reason #37 for why I can't get rid of clothes: Literally everything I am wearing is at least 4 years old (except for the bag and bracelet), but I've never thought of putting the three together until now. Have I gotten more creative? Crazy? Mature? Eh, maybe one out of three...

A Stroke of Genius

No not the outfit, although I do really love the combination...I'm referring to the painterly brushstrokes of the skirt of course! Granted, I wore this less than a month ago--which I assume everyone will remember, though likely not at all-- but its too good not to put it on repeat

Skirt: H&M {Sold out, but some might be left in store!} // Sweater: Theory

Necklace: Anthropologie {also similar at Baublebar} // Ring: H&M
Sadly the necklace came after the pics, because it matched my ring perfectly!

Bag: J. Crew // Ballet Flats: Pour La Victoire

Boots, Blazers and Brrrrr

While I may rock pants every so often on a Friday or the weekend, its a rare rare day when I wear them during the 'normal' workweek. However, one step outside and I just knew I couldn't face the day in my usual array of skirts and dresses. Almost everything I'm wearing was either given to me  {thanks for the blazer you didn't wear Mom!}, consignment {hello fancy boots with  tags on} or on sale {rock on Nordstrom's Rack!} Hey, when you score, you score!

Blazer: Yigal Azrouel  {try this or this} // Sweater: Theory
// Pants: Rag & Bone {almost identical here or try these ON SALE}

Bracelet: J. Crew // Ring: H&M

Nail Polish: Essie 'Pearly White' // Earrings: Paris ages ago {but amazingly found the twins here}

Scarf: Zara // Bag: J. Crew // Boots: Stuart Weitzman 5050

Jewel Tones

When you have a necklace this stunning, nothing else is really needed...even for someone who enjoys throwing in the usual extra something here and there. I must confess every time I wear it I catch myself just watching it sparkle, and I swear in one of these photos it looks like its glowing!

Dress: Theory {similar here but adore this} // Top: J. Crew {almost identical here}// Coat: H&M {try this }

Necklace: Lulu Frost // Bracelet: J. Crew

{Glamour Shot!}

Nail Polish: Essie 'Russian Roulette'

Boots: Frye // Bag: J. Crew 'Tillary Tote' {great placeholder till the Celine fairy visits me}

For the Love of Leather

I am obsessed with leather in any form, be it real or faux, natural or colored, I'll take one of each! This skirt just happens to be faux, as well as one of my favorite colors (if you can call nude a color of course.) It goes with everything AND it even has pleats. Literally the only thing that could make it better would be pockets.

Excuse me while I twirl again...

Blazer: Theory {similar} // Tank: Paige Premium Denim //
Sweater: Forever21 {similar}  // Skirt: Asos {adore this MSGM one}

Bracelets: J. Crew // Nail Polish: Essie 'Naughty Nautical'

Hello Yellow!

For some reason lately I have been really into the monochromatic look, not sure if its boredom with my wardrobe or some new type of creativity, but I can't seem to get enough!

While I love yellow, I often shy away from it because it does not pair well with my old standby black--way too easy to venture into bumblebee territory (only kids at Halloween can pull that look off.) Yellow and navy however feels crisp and bold, with maybe a touch of prep. I can't help but have a brighter outlook wearing a sunny yellow....although the fact that tomorrow is Friday doesn't hurt either.

Blazer: Theory {similar} // Sweater: Alice + Olivia {try this or this} // Skirt: J. Crew {similar
// Necklace: Vintage {try this}

Cuff: Asos {try this or the dreamy Pucci version}

The (Color) Block Party

Its no secret that I adore shiny things, sequins being one of my absolute favorites. Since I do not live in Vegas or work at a nightclub, I have to find other times to break out my sequins. Daytime sequins can be more fun than at night because if forces you to get creative.

Tee: David Lerner // Sequin shell: J. Crew // Skirt: Odille {old but this works and of course the amazing Tibi one I want} // Bracelet: Forever21 {old but love this Sorelli one}

Blazer: Theory {similar J. Crew and an amazing Elizabeth & James}

{Love the unusual shape of the sequins}

I seriously can't keep track of this weather lately, but there was no escaping the fact that it still wasn't quite springtime. None of my usual raincoats worked with a tea length skirt, so I broke out this bad boy. My parents scored this for me in California on consignment years back, and it always makes me feel so grown up wearing it!
Trench Coat: Vintage Burberry {Similar here but the J. Crew Icon Trench is great and more affordable}

Not So Mellow Yellow

On most cold grey days the most color I can handle is the color of my nailpolish. Something about that type of weather that just makes me forget I even own colors. However, then there are days like today where I look outside and say BRING IT ON. Sometimes you have to dress for how you wish things were, not how they actually are.

Sweater: Theory {old but this Vanessa Bruno is almost identical} // Long sleeved tee: Isli // Skirt: LnA Gypsy Skirt

Faux Fur Vest: French Connection {Similar here, or try this or this}

Bracelets: All vintage from my grandmother {Ebay actually has a lot of similar and affordable ones}

Gotta love a good daytime slit...and flat faux alligator boots of course!
Boots: BCBGirls {old but these Rachel Zoe ones are cute and on sale}

Everything's Coming Up Roses

The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, its 70 degrees out...Ok, two out of three isn't too shabby. When I woke up this morning I just wanted to dress happy, so naturally, I put on a {short!} floral favorite. While I love rocking all black as much as the next girl, sometimes I just don't want to blend in even one bit.

Even though two years old certainly doesn't qualify as vintage, I like the 60's vibe to the dress. Flower Power indeed!

Dress: Forever21 {Could try this, this, and I love this even though its way more}

Sadly though, it will mainly be covered up today thanks to its mini length. Whether its true or not, I've always felt that adding opaque tights and blazer makes almost anything more work appropriate.

Blazer: Theory {Similar herehere and here}

Bracelet: From a since closed vintage store in DC {Try this or this}

All About Oxblood

Dress : Petit Bateau {almost identical here } // Jacket : Rachel Zoe {try this , this  or this } // Necklace : Baublebar // Hat...
