Over the Top

I loved the over the knee boot look ever since it came out, but have found it almost impossible to pull off without looking like I stepped out of "Pretty Woman."

Finally, after months of sitting in my closet, these babies have seen the light of day. It was much easier to amp up a daytime look than to tone down a nighttime one...and no risk of being mistaken for a certain someone with a heart of gold.

Sweater: J. Crew Tippi // Skirt: Diane Von Furstenberg {similar here and here} // Boots: Aldo {the Stuart Weitzman 50/50 are obviously amazing...}

Necklaces: J. Crew Fenton/Fallon // CC Skye {This necklace captures the same look but in one piece}

Nail Polish: Essie "Butler Please" // Ring: Ambiance in San Francisco

This is legitimately the first time I've worn blue nail polish and I have no idea what I was afraid of. I want to wear this color head to toe!

Back on the Chain Gang

Here is another example of how I like to wear a suit-- choose pieces that are different materials, patterns etc, but all share a common color scheme and style. Matching suits have a time and a place, but I prefer to create my own.

Literally everything but the sweater are thanks to my mom. Her taste never ceases to amaze me, and always manages to find things I adore, but never would have thought of on my own.

Skirt: Red Valentino {similar here} // Jacket: Diane Von Furstenberg {old but thisthis and this are similar} // Sweater: Callixta {similar herehere and here}

WatchMichael Kors Oversized Two-Tone Chronograph // Necklace: From Seams in San Francisco {this is very close}

Since you know I love details, here is one of the reasons I love this skirt-- there is a small layer of tulle underneath to give it just the right "pouf!"

Rain Rain Go Away

Grey. Rainy. Mid-week. This combination does not inspire outrageous outfits and colors. Time for... Diane Von Furstenberg cable-knit sweaterdress (old), Black vintage slouch boots, White and silver cuff (ebay), Michael Kors Runway Watch (Bloomingdale's), and my favorite multi-chain necklace from a little store in San Francisco (Seams)

All About Oxblood

Dress : Petit Bateau {almost identical here } // Jacket : Rachel Zoe {try this , this  or this } // Necklace : Baublebar // Hat...
