Midi Mix Up

This is another fabulous oldie but goodie {and by oldie I of course mean a whole 2 years or so} that for some reason I hadn't worn in ages. I love the classic cut of it and ladylike length, while the contrasting patterns keep it from being too uptight.

Closet Creations

I know I've been getting worse at blog posts lately. I could blame the summer, work, etc but really its only my bank account. In the interest of trying to be a grown-up and not buy EVERY SINGLE THING I WANT, I've been re-wearing oldies but goodies. Now, I can't really complain. Thanks to all of my previous shopping I have tons of options...but its just not as exciting. Nothing like a shiny new object to perk a girl up.

Its made me get more creative, which is a good thing. Plus, we all know when I say I'm behaving its not like I'm not shopping. I'm just not listing it as my sole extracurricular activity!

Fancy Friday

Just because almost everything I have been wearing, wanting, and posting have been little white dresses, that doesn't mean I have forgotten my love for all things black. Even if I had actually forgotten, this outfit would have reminded me in less than a minute{after I picked my jaw up off the floor.} Its a showstopper-- from the perfectly placed long straight hair to the little triangle cutouts-- this is not something you see every day!
Unfortunately thanks to a few extra assets than her, its not likely I can pull this off, but its certainly got my craving black and drama again!

Looking forward to some wonderful girl time--which of course also means wonderful bubbly-- and finishing up Marisha Pessl's 'Night Film.' I started it at the beach and would have been done within a few days if it weren't for things like work. If you haven't read it, GO! Her first book, 'Special Topics In Calamity Physics' is fantastic as well.

Summertime Blues

Between going through vacation withdrawal {even though it was super short, it sure was sweet} and realizing that I have a million summer things with tags on and its already August...it seemed appropriate to break out this tunic and my silver sandals. To make it less beachy and more casual work appropriate, I threw on PANTS. Yes, I do actually own pants. Shocking I know....

Hot Pink Party

My love of Equipment tops goes without saying, though I still constantly say it anyway. Of course, its only natural that I'd feel the same about their dresses {and pajamas...which I covet and will one day make mine!} I bought this dress first in the pink...then in black... and then in camo. Usually if you keep your eyes open you can find it on sale, patience is a necessary virtue though. Aside from feeling as comfortable as pajamas, it makes getting ready a snap, and perfect for layering between seasons too.

So pretty much, the moral of this story is to go buy it now!

LWD

After being off of work for almost a week, lets just say that this Monday was even tougher than usual! I could barely drag myself out of bed, let alone put two brain cells together to form an outfit. Thank goodness I hand't worn this dress yet-- it was perfect to throw on and felt as cozy as pajamas. While the LBD may be forever classic, the LWD has been my go to all summer long!
